Love, Joy, Peace...
Serving for Generations

We have been a spiritual bedrock in this area for nearly two centuries, and constantly strive to renew ourselves.  Our goal is to be vital for the Great Commission - to go out and make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Originally founded in 1833, the Methodist Episcopal church was first located west of the center of town on Rt. 303. In 1867, a reorganization of the Methodist Church resulted in the "official founding" of the church in LaGrange. The cornerstone of the current sanctuary was laid on May 13, 1873 and the building was dedication for the glory of God on October 16th, 1874.

Since that dedication, the sanctuary has been used for countless worship services, weddings, funerals, and prayer groups. A basement was added, the steeple was shortened after losing the taller version in a wind storm. . In September of 1960, a 12 classroom building was completed and later dedicated as the Hastings Education Building in honor of the years of service given by Mrs. Esther Hastings. In 2005, the ground was broken for the Family Life Center--a place for social gatherings for the church and the community.

In 2007, worship services were moved to the Family Life Center while our sanctuary renewal project was launched. Phase One is complete, and we are back in the sanctuary worshipping! The next phase of constructing a connecting annex between our two buildings has been prayerfully funded, and construction should begin soon!
